Jordon’s best quality is that people really like her. It is easy to place a vote for someone you really like. Can’t say it would be so easy to vote someone 500g’s if you can’t stand them. It’s called Human Nature.

I agree on the point that you should dress well for interviews and appropriately for jobs… however at a social event, e.g. a party or date, I think your clothes should be an extension of your personality. you should wear what you find cool or comfortable, not what you think somebody you don’t know will like because it’s the norm. that’s just my opinion on the matter, and as far as judging people by appearance… I try to never assume someone is something until I know them well enough to find out.

So you dress nice people will like you but If you don’t People from all walks of life will make fun of you When you tell people to Grow Up You’re Adults Grown Ups you’re Not in High School When you go out into the Real world You don’t Judge People by Appearance and If you do then you’re an Asshole or a Bitch When will People accept Others for you they are, But I’m Bullying making Fun of others Harassment, Insults, Road Rage, God never allow Mean People to go to Heaven More like to Hell, Appearance who cares, how about how Heart and Emotions you got.
Want to Judge me by Appearance why don’t you tell people to Look the other way and Shut Up everyone deserves to happy No matter what their Appearance.

I am enthusiastic about this article. I could not stop laughing like an Aflac duck. Wow, someone finally came along and decided to write the truth about appearance. I think often about the very things pointed out in this article, some of which happen to me daily. I have not been dating for over 2 years now, partialy becuase of my weight, appearance and lack of disposal income. I’m no hottie of a man weighing in at 289 pounds @ 6ft 2ins tall and disabled walking with a quad cane. I am a walking condom with no solution for love.

Maybe it is not “ideally correct” or correct at all, but this is THE opposition. This is the other option that we can choose.

Derek, I am making a research on Personality Judgment by appearance. Could you please send me that list of the related literature that you were talking about earlier? That would really help.

I’ve gotta say that even though I didnt want to agree with you when I read the first few lines, but actually I do agree with you on everything. You choose what clothes you wear therefore if people judge you as someone they don’t wanna be around then its all down to you. Its brilliant. Especially the bookstore thing.

I certainly believe that appearances do matter, especially in the buisiness world, but when you’re only 12 years old they shouldn’t have that much of an effect, or do they?
A LITTLE STORY…
It was the beginning of seventh grade and I was only twelve years old. I had always been a straight A student, and it since has never changed. I was constintly mad because the way I dressed was not all that nice(ripped jeans, sweatshirt, sneakers) and my friend got all of the attention for her appearance (preppy,pretty and at first judgement nerdy irish). Everyone thought that she got all A+’s, but the truth was that she was a straight D and C student. Everytime that I got an A, then no one would believe me, but she’d lie about her grade and everyone was fascinated! This just shows how much your appearance can really make of you.

Cassie, you very much do discriminate based on appearance. Your comment makes that extremely clear. The difference is that you are biased against people wearing suits.

“i think they work harder than someone in just a suit.”

“they’re not some cookie cutter guy in a suit who will do just what i ask to, and won’t bring more than that to the table.”

For whatever reason, you prefer the person who comes in dressed down, or dressed “different”, but you are still allowing appearances to affect you.
